Places around Otsuka
Nearby Hot Springs: Sakura Onsen
A long travel can often make us tired and stressed when we are supposed to be in Japan for FUN! Right?
I found the perfect way to take the load off and really enjoy Japan the way that local Japanese do for centuries.
Where is it? It is in Sugamo station, the next station from Otsuka by JR Yamanote Line. 9 minutes walk from station by foot.
Open 10AM - 11PM (10:30PM last call)
It costs 1296yen for adults, 756yen for children.
Of course it is traveler friendly as it often accommodates customers from all over the world.
Men and women bathing areas are separate and completely in the nude.
Towels are available for rent for a small fee. Body scrubbing towels are available for free.
Tattoos are not permitted in the hot springs. If you have a small tattoo, it might be ok as long as it is unnoticeable.

Supermarket and 100 yen store
A relatively large supermarket and 100 yes store is located a few minutes walk from the NORTH exit of JR Otsuka station.
The 100 yen store is a great way to find value for the least cost. You may even find an awesome souvenier from there! It's on the 2nd floor of the supermarket.
Take Otsuka station NORTH exit, and go through the street behind Starbucks. You may pass a bakery called Bon Bon and a Boxing Gym.
When you see the next big street, you will see a Gold's Gym diagonally across the street to your left. The supermarket and 100 yen shop is right next to Gold's Gym.

If you want to send a post card or a package home, there is a post office a few minutes walk from the NORTH exit of JR Otsuka Station.
It is very close to the supermarket and Gold's Gym.
To find the post office, simply follow the train tracks for the trolley car outside of JR Otsuka station. Stay on the left side of the tracks and eventually you will find the post office on your left hand side.
